Need to know when traveling to Italy

Currency: The Euro is Italy's official currency
Banks and ATM: Credit Cards are accepted everywhere. Just notify your local Bank that you are traveling to Italy before your departure
Local Travel: only use licensed taxis (taxi sign on the roof) and make sure the meter is reset before you start your journey
Eating Out: In the summer, Italians have lunch around 1 in the afternoon and dinner around 8:00 pm. It is customary to leave small change for a tip on the table, or up to five percent of the total bill if the service is good
