Country information
What is the weather like in Bali
With sunshine throughout the year, Bali has a tropical monsoon climate, with pleasant day temperatures between 20 to 33 degrees Celsius. The rainy season starts from October to March with occasional heavy showers and high humidity. June to September is the dry season and best time for outdoor activities, with low humidity but it can get cold during the evenings.
Bali Culture
The rituals and festivals are everywhere you look. Offerings outside your hotel or shops, the population takes pride in their religious responsibilities. When packing your holiday suitcase include a sarong with or buy one as soon as you have settled into your hotel.
Drinks & Markets
Beer is cheap, and cocktails will surprise you with their taste. Avoid drinks that are labeled as Arak and remember wines are expensive. Drink bottled water only and avoid ice in your drinks.
Local markets are fun to go to and as usual, haggling is a must.
Discover your environment
Hire a motorbike for the day and insist on a helmet. An alternative is to hire a Bluebird Taxi for a few hours, they come metered, are clean and cheap.
Tipping
Staff is lowly paid in Bali however they still are extremely generous and hospitable. If you receive a good service, tipping will go a long way
Dishes not to be missed for first-time travelers to Bali
Pisang Goreng: fried bananas and an all-time favorite
Mie Goreng: Fried noodles served with vegetables and a choice of chicken, shrimps or pork
Sate: Mashed barbequed chicken blended with spices and put on a stick
Nasi Campur: Mixed rice with small portions of vegetables, fish or meat
