In detail

The temples of the Angkor area numbered over 1000 and many remain till today. When exploring them, you will come across everything from piles of rocks and brick overrun by huge tree roots to the world’s largest single religious monument – Angkor Wat. Together these temples comprise the most significant example of Khmer architecture and ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

When visiting Cambodia and Angkor, you feel like stepping into a mystical world of the past.
See the magnificent Angkor temple complex, where time stopped long time ago. Be captivated by the ancient power of Khmer empire and the beauty of its ruins. Discover Banteay Srei, a World Heritage Site praised as “jewel of Khmer art” and a “precious gem”. It was built by women (is known as the “Citadel of Women”).

Sail around the Tonle Sap (Great Lake) lake, the largest lake in Indochina and declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco. Visit floating villages with floating schools, houses, markets… and meet their inhabitants and their lifestyle. Join us in this amazing trip around this magical land!

The Tonle Sap

The Tonle Sap (known as the Great Lake) in Cambodia is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. It is one of the richest fishing lakes in the World. Tonle Sap Lake combines the lake and a river system. Here a seasonal occurrence creates one of the unique ecological hot spot in the world.
The lake is no doubt Cambodia’s potent soul, if one has to compare the glorious Angkor Wat as the heart of the nation. The unique eco-system and cultural area offers the opportunity to see a different side of the Siem Reap: floating villages, cultural and nature tours, bird watching.

Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate and Bayon temple and then move onto Ta Prohm.  One of the most beautiful temples in area. It has been left relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Also visit the World Heritage of Angkor Wat (Mid-12th century). The temple complex covers 81 hectares and built by Suryavarman II. The temple is one of the largest monuments to religion ever built and truly one the wonders of world.

Visit Banteay Srey Temple (35km), the most beautiful of all temples in Cambodia built in 10th century by Brahman. The temple Banteay Samre is 18km outside Siem Reap town and takes a half hour drive to get there. Built by Suryavarman II and named after the Samre, an ethnic tribe that inhabited the regions at the base of Phnom Kulen and probably related to the Khmers. No inscription has been found for it, but the tranquil temple’s style of architecture is of the classic art of the middle period similar to Angkor Wat.
